The Jataí Institute is participating in research on low-carbon public procurement with the Oxford Net Zero Regulation and Policy Hub at the University of Oxford.
The work, supported by a Social Sciences Engagement Fellowship, will explore the potential of the state's purchasing power in promoting the green transition by mapping the current state of public procurement—which accounts for 13–20% of global GDP—to identify opportunities, and considering governance structures to develop robust climate-focused public procurement policies.
The Jataí Institute, in partnership with the UCL Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose (IIPP), is conducting research on the National School Feeding Program (PNAE) as a strategic lever for sustainable public procurement.
The study analyzes the evolution of the PNAE, the strategic use of purchases from family farming, and the challenges of expanding productive inclusion, strengthening interfederative governance, and boosting sustainable food systems.
